What is Tinnitus
Tinnitus can be described as a constant ringing, buzzing, humming or whooshing sound, however it can also be intermittent in some cases. It can affect one or both ears in some cases in may be described as in the middle of the head.
Recent studies suggest that tinnitus is on the rise due to our lifestyle i.e noise exposure, stress etc. According to the British Tinnitus association 1 in 8 people are living with persistent tinnitus in the UK.
What causes tinnitus?
This has been a subject of study for a number of decades. There answer to this question is, there is no known definite one cause of tinnitus. Tinnitus can be caused by a number of factors some of which are, noise exposure, hearing loss, middle infections, stress and anxiety, ear wax build-up, Meniere’s disease, Otosclerosis, perforated eardrum, head injury, Acoustic neuroma, side effects of some medications the list is non exhaustive.

There is no cure for tinnitus, however we can help you manage the condition.
